Carteret County Association of Realtors Scholarship

Each year this organization awards 4 $1,000 scholarships to the graduating class. 2 letters of recommendation are required-one from outside school as well as consideration of financial need, academic performance and community involvement. A copy of your transcript must be included in the application as well. Also as of now there is not a deadline date, however, to be considered it is encouraged to turn in your application as soon as possible.

Austin Sherron Scholarship

Below is the link for the Austin Sherron Application for the 2019-2020 school year. Scholarships are awarded based on need and do not commit to a set amount every year. There is no GPA requirement-simply participation in at least 2 semesters of a sport, 1 letter of recommendation, and an essay outlining a hardship or adversity that you and may continue to face through your life. The deadline has not been set at this time, however, early application completion is recommended. Please click link below to access application.

Newport Women of the Moose Scholarship

The Newport Women of the Moose, Chapter #2060 is offering two $500.00 scholarships to the Class of 2020.  This is for any graduating senior pursuing an undergraduate degree in the education, medical, pharmaceutical, veterinarian, or dental field.


Applicants should submit a letter of vocational intent, resume, school transcript, college/university acceptance letter and three (3) letters of recommendation for consideration.  Awarded scholarships will be paid directly to the Financial Department of the college/university upon receipt of the applicant’s proof of enrollment.

North Carolina Coastal Federation's Coastal Stewardship Scholarship

The North Carolina Coastal Federation is pleased to announce the 2019 Coastal Stewardship Scholarship, a $1,000 scholarship for graduating high school seniors with outstanding dedication to our coastal environment. 

This scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors in one of North Carolina’s 20 coastal counties. The application deadline is April 15th. To learn more and apply:

The Coastal Federation is a member-supported nonprofit organization working to protect and restore coastal habitats and water quality. 

This award will be made by the Coastal Federation’s Scholarship Committee based on the following evaluation criteria:
• GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Past environmental accomplishments
• Future environmental plans
• Community involvement and volunteerism
• Personal interest in the coastal environment
• Special need for the scholarship
• Personal reference

Carteret-Craven Electric Foundation Community College Scholarships

Students heading to community college in the fall may be eligible for a scholarship from the Carteret-Craven Electric Foundation.

The foundation will award scholarships valued at up to $1,000 each to four local community college students beginning in the fall. Two students at Carteret Community College and two at Craven Community College can earn $250 a semester for a total of four semesters of study.

Scholarships will be awarded according to need (75 percent) and merit (25 percent). To be eligible, the applicant must live at a residence that is served by Carteret-Craven Electric Cooperative. Additional eligibility requirements and applications are available at the financial aid offices at both community colleges, online at, or at the co-op’s office in Newport or Havelock. The completed packet must be received by CCEC by 5 p.m. on April 30.

Delta Kappa Gamma Teaching Scholarship for Female Students

Delta Kappa Gamma Society promotes the professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education. Delta Kappa Gamma is offering a scholarship of $500 to a female senior who will be attending college in the fall of 2020 and who is planning on majoring in education. Deadline is March 31, 2020. The application has been sent to your student email and you can also see Mrs. Sadler for a printed copy. 

Emerald Isle Fishing Tournament Scholarship

This $3,000 scholarship will be awarded to a senior at CHS who is planning to pursue marine or coastal science as a college major at either a 4 year or a 2 year school.The student/s must be planning to major in some aspect of marine or coastal science or engineering, marine biology, ecology, oceanography, fisheries biology, geology, environmental science, climate change, marine policy, ocean-engineering/ship-building/maintenance, or chemistry/physics of the ocean. 


This scholarship is new this year and a CHS student will get this, as long as eligibility requirements are met. Please see Mrs. Sadler for the copy of the paper application. Deadline for submission is June 1, 2020. 

NC-ACTE Guidance and Career Development Scholarship

The NCACTE Guidance and Career Development Scholarship application is now open! Graduating seniors from any NC public school who have achieved CTE Concentrator status are eligible to apply. Each region will have one scholarship winner (8 total winners). Applications must be submitted online by April 15th to be considered. Winners will be announced May 1st.

John F. McKenna Jr. Service Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a senior attending CHS. The recipient will have a 3.75 GPA, be actively involved in extracurricular school sponsored activities (athletics, band, drama, art, etc.), demonstrate involvement in community service, and express interest in pursuing a career in public service. This includes law enforcement, federal government, military service, teaching, nursing, medicine, social work, and community outreach. Essay required. Please see Mrs. Sadler for the application. Due April 30, 2020. 

The Janice Beam Scholarship

This is a great local scholarship that is given by a local church to a graduating senior. Preference will be given in the selection process if you are member of First Baptist Church. Only available in paper copies and are available in Mrs. Sadler's office. Deadline is May 1, 2020.

The John Tillery Scholarship

This is a great local scholarship that is given by a local church to a graduating senior. Preference will be given in the selection process if you are member of the John Tillery family or a member of either First Baptist Church or St. Luke's Church. Only available in paper copies and are available in Mrs. Sadler's office. Deadline is May 1, 2020.


$10,000 State Employees Credit Union (SECU) People Helping People Scholarship 2020-NOW CLOSED

The People Helping People Scholarship 2020 is offered through the generosity of the State Employees Credit Union (SECU). This scholarship recognizes academic achievement, leadership, integrity and community involvement and service.


NEW eligibility requirement: "Scholarship will only be awarded to public high school seniors who are either members of SECU or eligible for membership through a parent/guardian." For proof of membership, just the top portion of a bank statement with the student's or parent's name and address and SECU's logo or a photocopy of the statement in the mailing envelope is perfect. This will be required with application. For information on how to become a member if you are eligible:


NEW Application Process: SECU has changed the process for awarding the scholarships to a district level-based decision-making model. Each Carteret County high school will submit their top 2 choices to a County Committee that will decide the winner for each high school. Please adhere to these deadlines, not those listed on SECU’s website.


Step 1: Google Form will be sent out on February 20, 2020, to all Carteret County high school students via their school email accounts.

Step 2: “Proof” materials (documentation that you are either members of SECU or eligible for membership through a parent/guardian) due to Mrs. Sadler by February 26, 2020, before 3 p.m. All materials need to be in one sealed envelope with your full legal name and “People Helping People Scholarship 2020” on the outside. Please see bottom for the 4 required "proof materials."

Step 3: For verified students, applications will be provided and will be due to Mrs. Sadler by March 9, 2020, before 3 p.m.

Step 4: 2 CHS Finalists will be notified by March 13, 2020 or earlier.

Step 5: CHS Finalists’ Bio, Consent, and Photo due to Mrs. Sadler by March 16, 2020, before 3 p.m.

Step 6: Finalists from each high school will be sent to the County Committee by March 20, 2020.

Carteret Health Care Scholarships (RN, RT, Radiography, ST)

Carteret Health Care offers scholarships for individuals pursuing health careers as Registered Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, Radiography and Surgical Technologists. Each of these scholarships will cover approximately 90% of the program.


There is no one deadline for submitting these scholarships as it is based upon the timing of your admittance to the particular program. For the complete scholarship application packet, please see Mrs. Sadler in student services.

Geraldine Mayo Beveridge Scholarship Endowment

Offered to a Carteret County public high school student with a minimum 2.5 GPA who serves as a positive role model for other students, has applied for admission to an accredited two- or four-year college or university as a full-time student, and plans to pursue a degree in education to become a certified teacher of vocational education in fields such as business, agriculture, industrial arts, family and consumer education or health occupation education.

Carteret County Local Scholarships

These scholarships are available to seniors attending Croatan High School, East Carteret High School or West Carteret High School. Each scholarship is for $500 and is available to students planning to attend a college or community college.


**The Andrew Kitchen Memorial Scholarship Fund  High school seniors interested in pursuing courses in the areas of health or human services or vocational and trades education are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

**The Jessica Wells Natalie Memorial Scholarship Fund High school seniors interested in pursuing courses in the areas of teaching and education are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

**The Tony Scorsune Memorial Scholarship Fund High school seniors interested in courses in the culinary arts area or business management are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

VJ "Puck" & Pearl O'Neal Scholarship

The Scholarship Endowment awards a scholarship in the amount of $1,000  which is renewable. Applicants must enroll full-time in an institution of higher learning with the intention of earning a degree in marine science or Christian studies with the purpose of entering seminary to be an ordained clergy person. Applicants who are eligible must have been born in Carteret County and attend a Carteret County public high school. 

Applicants must demonstrate academic achievement

Applicants must demonstrate significant involved in extracurricular activities that promote charitable activities.

The scholarship portal is now open and accepting applications.  The deadline for this scholarship is March 25, 2020


This scholarship is a merit-based scholarship intended to assist eligible children of North Carolina service members desiring to pursue a degree (or vocational certification) from an accredited North Carolina college, vocational or technical institution. Deadline is April 15, 2020. Application has been emailed to you or you could also see Mrs. Sadler for a paper application. 


1)      The dependent child of an NC service member wounded or killed while serving from September 11, 2001 until present. Service member can be from any branch of service.

2)      Applicant must attend an accredited North Carolina college, vocational, or technical institution.

Beaufort Ole Towne Rotary Club College Scholarship

This scholarship is given by the Beaufort Rotary Club. There are no specific eligibility requirements, however, it does appear that financial need, strong academics, extracurriculars and quality of essay are all equally considered. The deadline for submission is March 18, 2020. This application has been emailed to your student account and Mrs. Sadler has paper copies as well. 

3 in 1 Scholarships

The Eunice Riggins Memorial Scholarship is open to any student who is currently graduating from an accredited high school in NC and who expects to enroll in a four-year college or university in North Carolina next fall.  Specific eligibility requirements are academic rank in the top 10% of the class, Minimum SAT score of 1220 or ACT composite score of 25, good character and participation in extra-curricular activities (school and community).  Financial need is not the primary consideration.  $2000


The Mary Rose Mille-Linda Rankin Memorial Scholarship is open to any student who is currently graduating from an accredited high school in NC and who expects to enroll in a four-year college or university next fall.  Specific eligibility requirements are: Academic rank in the top 10% of the class, Minimum SAT score of 1290 or ACT composite score of 27, good character and participation in extra-curricular activities (school and community).  Financial need is not the primary consideration. $2000


The Clare Johnson Marly-Mary Earle Berger Fine Arts Scholarship is open to any student who is currently graduating from an accredited high school in NC and who expects to enroll in a four-year college or university next fall, and who is declaring as his/her major an area of the fine arts.  Specific eligibility requirements are academic rank in the top 20% of the class, Minimum SAT score of 1220 or ACT composite score of 25, good character and participation in extra-curricular activities (school and community).  Financial need is not the primary consideration.  $2000

The North Carolina Alpha Delta Kappa Student Achievement Scholarship is also available.  It is also for $2000 and is open to a male or a female, on track to graduate and planning to attend a 2-year or 4-year college or university.  Specific eligibility requirements are SAT score of 990 to 1130 or ACT composite score between 20 and 25, unweighted GPA of 2.5 to 3.5, good character, integrity, leadership potential and service to the school, community, and church.  Students should apply for this scholarship through the North Carolina Community Foundation at

(SEANC) State Employees Association of North Carolina Scholarships

SEANC offers a $1,000 scholarship to dependents of a State Employees Association of NC members that plans to attend a technical school, community college, trade school, junior college or a for-year university. Application can be found at Deadline date is APRIL 15, 2020.

Evangeline Reels Memorial Scholarship

The Evangeline Reels Memorial Scholarship is offering a scholarship to students with a 2.5 GPA or higher who are attending a historically black college/university in the Fall. Two letters of recommendation are required as well as a short essay. Deadline is May 1st, 2020 Please mail completed application packet to address listed on application before May 1st. Stop by and see Mrs. Sadler to pick up a copy of this application! 

Joseph H. Tallman Scholarships in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering

Graduate from a public high school in Carteret County with a 3.0 or higher unweighted GPA who is a US citizen and has resided in Carteret County full-time for at least the past 12 months, who is enrolling full-time in an accredited four-year college or university seeking a bachelor's degree in either mechanical engineering or electrical engineering, and who demonstrates involvement in extracurricular activities and exhibits good moral character. **PLEASE NOTE: Although students should use the North Carolina Community Foundation's common application form, this scholarship requires three specific reference letters - (1) one from a math or physics teacher, (2) one from a teacher or school administrator, and (3) one from a non-family member in the community. Furthermore, the required essay should be no more than two pages and describe (1) why you have chosen a career in engineering, (2) what qualities you possess that would enable you to succeed in the engineering field, and (3) how you foresee utilizing your degree to make a difference in your selected field of interest.**

Carteret-Craven Electric Cooperative Scholarship-NOW CLOSED

This $4,000 scholarship is open to students whose primary residence is on Carteret-Craven Electric Cooperative’s lines. To qualify, the student must be a high school senior in the current graduating class and must be accepted at a 2-year community/technical college or 4-year college or university. The student cannot be a close relative of a Carteret-Craven Electric Cooperative employee or director; close relative being a spouse, child, grandchild, great-grand child, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, niece or nephew, by blood, by adoption, or in-law of the employee or director. Leader Academy - First Responder Scholarship

Brady-Cobin Law Group Scholarship

The scholarship will have three prizes, ranging from $500 to $2,500.

Cherry Point Spouses Club Scholarship-NOW CLOSED

The Cherry Point Spouses Club awards over $50,000 in scholarships every year to military connected students who are Cherry Point dependents at any rank. Scholarship awards amounts range from $1,000-$5,000. The deadline to apply is March 15th.

Coastal Carolina Military Officers' Association of America

The CCMOAA Scholarship awards four $1,000 scholarships to an immediate family member of a Retired U.S. Uniformed Services personnel or an immediate family member of an Active Duty U.S. Uniformed Services personnel permanently assigned to a command within Carteret, Craven, Pamlico, Jones, Beaufort County. Deployed military must be permanently assigned to a command within one of the above five county areas. The applicant must be a graduating senior accepted and planning to attend any accredited college, university, or community college in NC or out-of-state. Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time student. This scholarships may be based on financial need, however, all-around excellence in academics and civic and social activities will be instrumental in the selection process.

C-STEP Scholarship Program (Carteret Community College to UNC-Chapel Hill)

C-STEP targets low-to-moderate income students and provides them opportunities to excel at the community college for two years and then matriculate to UNC -Chapel Hill to complete a bachelor’s degree.  Admission to Carolina is guaranteed to these high-achieving students provided they complete an Associates in Arts or Associates in Science degree with at least a 3.2 GPA and fulfill other specific program requirements.  C-STEP students participate in cultural, social, leadership, volunteering and academic activities along with intensive advising to prepare them for life at Carolina.  This collaborative effort will ensure that C-STEP students feel “firmly planted” at Carolina almost immediately upon transferring there.  These transfer students will be academically prepared and fully engaged in the campus community – both are strong indicators of student success.

An important consideration for many students interested in transferring to a four-year university is how to pay for their education.  Once enrolled in C-STEP, Carteret Community College and UNC – Chapel Hill attempt to meet 100% of every student’s demonstrated financial need through scholarships, grants, loans and work-study programs.  In addition, qualified students are eligible for Carolina Covenant Scholars – a landmark program at UNC that enables students from low socioeconomic backgrounds to graduate with minimal debt from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Entry into the program is competitive and is based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, demonstrated financial need, community involvement, diversity, demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles, family responsibilities and academic excellence.

North Carolina Alpha Delta Kappa Student Achievement Scholarship

$2000 Scholarship. Must be enrolling in 4-year college or university in North Carolina and must have a GPA between 2.5-3.5.SAT score of 990 to 1130 or ACT composite score between 20 and 24. Must exhibit good character integrity, leadership potential, and participation in extra-curricular activities (school, community, and Church). Applications are due March 1, 2020 and have been emailed to you. Three Universities. $500 Tuition.

While some other colleges charge more than $50,000 tuition per year, North Carolina has three great universities that charge in-state undergraduates just $500 tuition per semester. That’s no typo — $500 tuition (out-of-state students pay just $2,500).

Students at Elizabeth City State UniversityThe University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and Western Carolina University are automatically enrolled in the program; there are no other eligibility requirements. It’s an amazing opportunity that shows North Carolina’s true commitment to keep college affordable…for everyone.


Marine Corps Foundation Scholarship

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation provides scholarships to the children of Marines and eligible Navy Corpsmen, Chaplains, and Religious Program Specialists, ensuring their children have the opportunity to pursue post-secondary education.


The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation is the Nation’s oldest and largest provider of need-based scholarships to military families. These scholarships are for children of eligible applicants pursuing a post-secondary education at any accredited school—whether that be a trade school, career training, community college, or four-year university.


This program is not competitive, and every eligible applicant will receive an award.

 The scholarship application for the 2020-2021 academic year will close on March 3, 2020. Better Business Bureau Torch Scholarship-NOW CLOSED

Better Business Bureau Torch Scholarships recognize students who personify high ethical standards as demonstrated through leadership, community service, overall personal integrity, and academic history. Scholarship awards range from $1,000-$15,000.

Crystal Coast Choral Society Scholarship-NOW CLOSED

The Crystal Coast Choral Society Scholarship is a $500 scholarship available to graduating seniors who have been accepted by a four-year college, university, or community college planning to major in music (performance, education, or therapy).

GE Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program-NOW CLOSED

This is a national scholarship organization that awards twenty $40,000 awards. Deadline to apply is Jan. 3rd, 2020. 

To be eligible a student must:

National Beta Scholarship Program-NOW CLOSED

Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Scholarship-NOW CLOSED

The Coastal Carolina Post, Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) intends to award up to two, four-year college scholarships valued at $2,000 each. These scholarships will be awarded to the most deserving applicants based on academic achievement, participation in extracurricular activities, and affiliation with SAME. 

The applicant must submit a completed application by December 2, 2019.

To be eligible for a scholarship the applicant must meet the following requirements:
(1) Be a high school senior planning to enroll in an engineering, architectural, or a similar technical field curriculum at an accredited college or university. College enrollment must be planned for the 2019/2020 school year.
(2) Have a minimum of a B average (3.0 on 4.0 scale).
(3) Meet at least one of the following:

The North Carolina Hispanic College Fund (NCHCF)-NOW CLOSED

NCHCF is announcing an open call to all Hispanic students to submit an application for the 2020-2021 School Year scholarship awards cycle. The annual scholarships are worth between $500 and $2,500. Applications will be accepted now through January 15, 2020. The application can be found on the NCSHP website at

Ron Brown Scholarship-NOW CLOSED

African American high school seniors are encouraged to apply for the Ron Brown Scholarship by either the early deadline of November 1, 2019, or the regular deadline of January 9, 2020. The Ron Brown Scholar Program offers a $40,000 scholarship to up to 30 African American high school seniors each year based on academic excellence and commitment to public service. RIBN (Regionally Increasing Baccalaureate Nurses) Program-NOW CLOSED

The RIBN (Regionally Increasing Baccalaureate Nurses) program is designed for students that want to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at an affordable cost.  Students are dually enrolled in one of our community college partners and ECU and obtain their ADN and BSN in 4 years.  This program costs about ½ of what a traditional on campus program costs at a University, so it is perfect for anyone that is interested in obtaining a nursing degree!  The admission deadline is January 31st.


To be eligible to apply for admission to the RIBN program directly from high school graduation, a student must have an unweighted cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in the required high school courses.

The Levine Scholars Program seeks outstanding high school seniors who are eager to embark on a transformative college experience. Requirements include:

  • Students must be applicants for freshman enrollment at UNC Charlotte in an undergraduate program for the fall term immediately following their high school graduation. Note: Students must be admitted to UNC Charlotte to receive a Levine Scholarship.

  • Students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

  • Students must demonstrate a commitment to community service, hold an academic record that reflects a sustained passion for knowledge, and possess a capacity for ethical leadership that elevates fellow students to a higher standard.

  • While there are no minimum SAT, ACT or grade point averages to apply for the Levine Scholarship, students must excel academically and show evidence of experience, motivation and commitment toward the ideals of the program.

The Bryan Scholars Program offers two scholarships, one each for a male and a female scholar athlete in each entering class. The Scholarships are valued at $35,000 annually, totaling $140,000 during the recipients' Davidson careers. Bryan Scholars are impact players at the NCAA Division 1 level in one of the 18 eligible sports, outstanding students, and leaders both in the classroom and in their sports.

The Elks 2020 Most Valuable Student scholarship contest is open to any high school senior who is a US Citizen.

The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2020 competition.

Male and female students compete separately. Each year the NC Black Elected Municipal Officials, through generous donations, is able to provide scholarships to outstanding students (of all races) who live in NC and will attend a university/college in the NC System or out of state

National Assocaition for the Education of Homeless Youth Scholarship

NAEHCY will award a minimum of four (4) $2,000 scholarships for the 2019-2020 academic year. To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicant must be under the age of 21 prior to the application due date;
  • Applicant must be actively pursuing post-secondary education;
  • Applicant must be homeless or have been homeless at any time during their school attendance. Parameters on homeless status are defined by the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Act (see below).

Morehead First United Methodist Church Scholarship-Now Closed

Each year the Scholarship Committee of First United Methodist Church (FUMC) awards scholarships to deserving students in our community. Priority for these awards goes first to members of FUMC who have demonstrated financial need and who are preparing for religious vocations or other fields of service to their fellow man. Members of the community at large who are not FUMC members may also be considered. The number of scholarships awarded and amount varies each year. The deadline for completed FUMC scholarship applications is April 24, 2019. The application has been emailed to you and you can see Mrs. Sadler in student services to pick up a copy of this application. 

Emerald Isle Baptist Church Braswell/Finch Scholarship-Now Closed

The application is now available in student services (Mrs. Sadler) and has been emailed to seniors for a $1,000 scholarship that is being given by Emerald Isle Baptist Church (EIBC). It is open to members, their children as well as others who have actively been involved at Emerald Isle Baptist Church. The deadline for this year is April 14th. This scholarship application can be submitted to 304 Emerald Plantation Road, Emerald Isle, NC 28594 or turned in to The EIBC's secretary. 

CFNC $5,000 Scholarship

College Foundation, Inc. is excited to announce that the NC Assist Loan Program just launched the “Score a $5,000 Assist for College.”  Any RISING college student or CURRENT college student, or parents of students, who will be attending college in the Fall are eligible to enter!  Contest ends April 10.  See the attached handout for all the contest rules and other details.

NC Federation of Republican Women NC Military Scholarship

The NC Federation of Republican Women is offering a $1,000 merit-based scholarship to an accredited NC college, vocational or technical institution.


Eligible recipient is an NC High School Senior who is either: 1.) a dependent child of an NC service member wounded or killed while serving in a combat zone from September 11, 2001, until the present, or 2.) one whose military sponsor was an NC resident at the time of service.

Master Gardeners Volunteer Association of Carteret County Scholarship

The Seaside Arts Council Scholarship

The Seaside Arts Council is offering a $500 scholarship to two area high school seniors (one at Swansboro High School and one at Croatan High School) who are interested in pursuing a degree in the visual or performing arts at the college level. Scholarships will be awarded to the candidate who shows the most passion and promise in their field.

Carteret Health Care Nursing Scholarships

This is a great opportunity for Health Science students who are interested in pursuing a career in nursing!!!


Carteret Health Care (CHC) has established 3 scholarships just for high school seniors.  CHC will offer 3 nursing scholarships to Carteret County Public Schools high school seniors to received when they are accepted into RIBN nursing program.  Each scholarship equals $11,000 towards the total cost of the program. RIBN applications are due January 31, 2019.

North Carolina Child Support Council Scholarship

The 2019 NCCSC Scholarship and Bob R. McGuire Memorial Scholarship application is now available.  The scholarship is available to all North Carolina residents who have been accepted by a North Carolina school of higher learning: a College, University, Community College, or Technical School.  In addition, at least one parent must be a member of the NCCSC, or a client of the Child Support Program (through either Child Support Services or Clerk of Court Services).

Kyle Byrd Memorial Scholarship

The North Carolina Junior Chamber International Senate offers a scholarship to graduating North Carolina seniors. North Carolina awards at least (2) $500 scholarships. Additionally, North Carolina submits (2) applications to the United States JCI Senate to participate in the national scholarship program. The US JCI Senate awards various $1,000 scholarships.

Ø Moreover, the ECU Military Science Department wants to make you aware of a paid internship program done in partnership with the North Carolina National Guard called the Simultaneous Membership Program.

Ø This internship can pay up to $80,000 towards tuition, books, fees, housing, and food over the course of four years in addition to allowing a student to intern as 2LT in an Army National Guard Unit.

Ø Successful completion of the Military Science Program at ECU will result in a commission as a 2LT in the Army, either part or full time.
