DECA

DECA Advisors: Mr. Shaffer (Rm 805) and Mrs. Werhner (Rm 518)

 

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. DECA enhances the preparation for college and careers by providing co-curricular programs that integrate into classroom instruction, applying learning in the context of business, connecting to business and the community, and promoting competition. Student members leverage their DECA experience to become academically prepared, community oriented, professionally responsible, and experienced leaders.

  • Challenging competitions
  • Friendships and a lot of fun

 

All students who are taking, or have taken, one of the following marketing classes are eligible to join DECA

  • Sports and Entertainment Marketing I and II
  • Hospitality and Tourism 
  • Entrepreneurship I
  • Personal Finance

 

  • Dues are $25 and are due no later than October 19th (made payable to CHS).  This allows us to compete at the local and state level
  • We have two service projects planned so far, one in the Fall and one in the Spring
  • Two trips are planned, one in the Fall and one in the Spring. Information will be given to paid members
  • Regional Competition: November 14, 2018 in Goldsboro
  • State competitions: March 2019 in Greensboro
  • Meetings will be held monthly, as needed, at 7:40am and 2:55pm to make it easier for students to attend.
